Entering the Kingdom

Entering the Kingdom

And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! Luke 18:24

One of the saddest things that exists today is the man or woman who has set their trust in the things they have. The majority of Christians in the Western World have their focus on the blessings of God more than the God of the blessings. In their rush to be rich in the richest country in the world, they have become poor.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Revelation 3:17-18 (KJV)

Nothing is more difficult to someone who trusts in their material wealth than to yield to the call of God to tithe (give ten-percent) on their increase, let alone, give over and above as an offering.

A person does not have to be rich to fall into the trap that the money they earn is theirs, and theirs alone, and that it is all they need to succeed. In fact even someone who is broke can have the same mentality. It is a blindness that must be healed in order to operate in, and receive, the blessing of God.
Are material things to be had and enjoyed? Of course they are. Our God has given us everything to enjoy.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 1 Timothy 6:17 (KJV)
