Its Beginning to Rain

Its Beginning to Rain

God is ready to fill His people with rejoicing and gladness:

Joel 2:23 (KJV) Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

The former rain prepares the ground and seed for growth and the latter rain prepares the harvest. If we are, however, to have the needed rains of the Spirit, we must begin to ask the Lord of the Harvest for the rain!

Zecariah 10:1 (AMP) ASK OF the Lord rain in the time of the latter or spring rain. It is the Lord Who makes lightnings which usher in the rain and give men showers, and grass to everyone in the field.

The Church of the First Born has been sleeping and must shake herself before it is too late. We patiently wait for the soon coming of the Lord but must keep up our vigil over the harvest:

James 5:7 (AMP) So be patient, brethren, [as you wait] till the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious harvest from the land. [See how] he keeps up his patient [vigil] over it until it receives the early and late rains.

You and I are living in the day of the former and latter rain outpouring!

Acts 2:16-18 (AMP) 16 But [instead] this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel: 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels] and your young men shall see visions (divinely granted appearances), and your old men shall dream [divinely suggested] dreams. 18 Yes, and on My menservants also and on My maidservants in those days I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels and predicting future events pertaining especially to God's kingdom].
