Love Is Saddened By Iniquity

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 1 Corinthians 13:6 (KJV)

There are many in our society today who rejoice (chairo) in iniquity. They are eager to embrace lawlessness and devise unjust ways to manipulate others for gain. This is not the way the Love of God works.

God’s love is always looking for ways to benefit the one loved. Blessing is in the heart and mind of God as He always seeks ways in which to bring increase to those with whom He is in covenant. His love is so all encompassing that He even blesses the unjust along with the just; “he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust” (Mat. 5:45 KJV).

Don’t ever let tradition or the teaching of the legalist cause you to think that God is against you or unjust. You are the object of His affection and the apple of His eye (Deut. 32:10; Zech. 2:8). The wrath of His judgement will only be felt by those who have rejected His Son upon whom fell the judgement for sin. Jesus paid the full price for the true believer’s sin (1 Thes. 5:9).

Iniquity (adikia), or the injustice of a judge, is the result of unrighteousness of heart and life. It is an act that violates the law and justice of God. You can see, then, why this kind of demeanor is never embraced or deemed acceptable within the context of the Love of God.

God, who is Love, is the only Righteous Judge:

[As to what remains] henceforth there is laid up for me the [victor's] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me and recompense me on that [great] day—and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and yearned for and welcomed His appearing (His return). 2 Tim. 4:8 (Amp)

As such, iniquity will never be found near or around Him. Neither should it be found near or around those that are of Him.
