Love Rejoices In The Truth

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 1 Corinthians 13:6 (KJV)

Love (agape) always rejoices in the truth! The word translated “rejoiceth,” in “rejoiceth in the truth,” is a different word than that which is used in “rejoiceth not in iniquity.” This word is, (sugchairo), which means, to rejoice with by taking part in another's joy, to rejoice together and to congratulate.

So, Agape Love congratulates truth (aletheia).

Biblical truth is the Word of God: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” John 17:17 (KJV). Jesus is the Word of God; the Truth:

In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. John 1:1 (Amp)

Biblical truth is that which is in, modeled and taught by, Jesus the Christ of God:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 (KJV)

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 (KJV)

Truth (aletheia) is that which is true in any matter under consideration. It is reality and unalterable fact. It is what is true in things appertaining to God and the duties of man as it deals with moral and religious truth. Truth as taught in the Christian religion, respecting God and the execution of his purposes through Christ, and respecting the duties of man, opposing alike to the superstitions of the Gentiles and the inventions of the Jews, and the corrupt opinions and precepts of false teachers even among Christians.

Psalm 138:2 says that Love heralds and establishes truth even above His name: “

I will worship . . . and praise thy name for . . . thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
