Blessing & Cursing

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3 (KJV)

As Christians we understand that the “Seed” of Abraham is Christ and that in Him shall all families of the earth be blessed. We should also understand that though we see this prophetic blessing that flows to and through the Messiah, the natural seed of Abraham are also meant to be the recipients of the face value of the promise of God.

“I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee” is a real promise to the Israel of today and to the Church of the Living God.

The Church does not replace the Israel of God. The Church and those who call themselves Jews are both in covenant with God. Only the covenant agreements are different. Jews can, and must, become born-again by accepting Jesus as their Messiah but they are still in covenant with their God who swore by Himself.

For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. Hebrews 6:13-14 (KJV)

God has an agreement with three groups of people as listed in the book of 1 Corinthians:

Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 1 Corinthians 10:32 (KJV)

God has agreed to open salvation to whosoever will come to Christ. The lost must respond to His extension of love in Christ Jesus or spend eternity in torment. He has covenanted with the Jews to keep them as a people and bring them face to face with their Messiah. He has covenanted with the church to make her one with Himself.

Christianity is of the Jews, the Jews are not of Christianity, so consider taking a stand with Israel in these days of world wide terrorism if only to show the love of God in Christ: “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee.”
