Hebrews 11:6 tells us that
it is impossible to please God without faith. So He gave it to us. Imagine that!
It's Not Yours - But It
Is
Romans 12:3 (KJV) For I
say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to
think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Your faith is not
natural faith, it is supernatural faith. Even saving faith comes to each man by
hearing the Word of God.
Romans 10:17 (KJV) So
then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The faith that so many,
so called, Christians pride themselves for having is actually given them.
Notice the following two verses. They say, "the faith of," not,
"by faith in."
Galatians 2:16 (KJV)
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith
of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be
justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the
works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 2:20 (KJV) I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Our faith doesn't even
work without the love of God manifest in our lives; and even that love has been
given us by our loving Father.
Romans 5:5 (KJV) And
hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts
by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
This faith, so
mercifully given, should be received and exercised as the precious gift that it
is. It has great preciousness, value and power. It is the faith of God. As Mark
11:22 can be translated:
Mark 11:22 (DRV) And
Jesus answering, saith to them: Have the faith of God.
