Syria

Caught between the Syrian government and the Syrian rebels are thousands upon thousands of starving people who will die if America, or someone, will not air drop in food and water to them. Thousands have already died from starvation and mortar and bombs from both sides.

If we are going to get involved, it should be on a humanitarian level and not a military one. Their fight is not our fight. Their politics are not our concern. I'm not totally isolationist but I do not believe that we should be dictating to other countries who their leaders are going to be, especially when the alternative to the existing leadership are the very people who took out the twin towers in New York.

Egyptians, for the most part, were our allies and considered American as a great nation. Now, most Egyptians hate our President and wish we had never become involved in their affairs. We decided that their existing government was not acceptable and gave them over to the Muslim Brotherhood. What a great exchange!

The same thing is about to happen in Syria. We hear, they killed their own people with gas. Really? Who? The government or the rebels? 1,400 people died. That's horrible but thousands upon thousands were slaughtered by conventional means before that and thousands upon thousands are starving to death now.

A return to sanity, a killing of ego and bluster, and a hand of compassion seems to me to be the real response the world should see from a truly great nation.
