Truth

Truth

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11 (KJV)

Your Torah, 'imrah, (or 'emrah), Your spoken Words, Your commandment uttered have I hid, tsaphan, treasured and stored up in the secret places of my heart, leb, my innermost being, my inner man of the heart, and made them my inclination, my resolution and my determination of will, conscience as well as the seat of my emotions, passions and the seat of my courage.

I have done this so that I might not sin, chata', that I might not commit any act, or hold any thought, that would be offensive to You, the only living God.

Your Word will keep me from missing the goal or path of right and duty so that I will not incur guilt nor incur penalty by forfeit because your Word is the only pure truth, aletheia, what is true in any matter under consideration and is of universal personal excellence. Truth that is that candour of mind which is free from affection, pretence, simulation, falsehood and deceit.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17 (KJV)

Jesus is the Eternal Word (John 1:1) and, as such, is the only path of access to God. There is no other way.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 (KJV)

As the believer hides the Word of God in their heart, he is developing a relationship of love with Jesus. He said,

If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. John 14:15 (AMP)
If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father's commandments and live on in His love. John 15:10 (AMP)

Life in Jesus is a life in love with the Word of Truth.
