Races Should Never Blend

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 (KJV)

Did the title of today’s “Picture of Silver” cause your hackles to rise? That was my intention.

Let me clarify: There are only two races of people; the sons of Satan and the sons of God. God only deals with covenant people and the lost. He recognizes no other people groups on earth.

Our verse today sets in place a principle that should never, never, never be ignored: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers” (those of the lost race). The reasoning of God is flawless in this matter, as in all matters. Righteousness cannot coexist with unrighteousness anymore than oil can successfully mix with water.

For the saved and the unsaved to marry each other or to be partners in a business only brings confusion and every evil work. The anointing of the Anointed One (Christ) and the darkness of the devil controlled world are incompatible and cannot agree. They cannot have communion any more than light and darkness can exist in the same place at the same time.

During my years of pastoral ministry, my experience is that these unequal covenants never work well. In marriage, each individual naturally desires that their spouse be a part of what they are interested in and enjoy. This is especially true of a believer who desires to share their intimate relationship with the Lord with their soul mate.

In business there is usually a great deal of friction that develops over integrity issues. A lost person and a Christian have diametrically opposed views on how business should be conducted, the rules by which they operate and how profits will be handled.

Neither can unregenerate politicians properly serve a Christian community. Such is America’s condition at present.
