Be Glad!

Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. Joel 2:23
This is that:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: . . . Acts 2:17-18 (KJV)

Today, I want to look at more of the promise found in the book of Joel; specifically that which is found in Joel 2:23. After two verses commanding us to “fear not,” or “be not afraid,” we are encouraged to “Be glad!” In fact, we are told to be glad then . . . ! Because of what is promised in the past two verses, we are to “be glad” and rejoice. God is our God. He is personally the Lord our God.

As He has given the former and latter rains to the just and the unjust in the natural, He now promises a spiritual rain that will fall in the last days in which we are living. On the day of Pentecost the rains began.

The former rain brings forth the fruit of the earth. The spiritual former rain is the Holy Spirit convicting humanity of sin. This rain will fall twice to bring every seeking soul to a place of heartfelt conviction of sin.

Then, the latter rain will fall. This, in the natural, is the final rain before harvest. So, too, in the spiritual realm, the latter rain is the final preparation for harvest. It is the supernatural enabling for the work of the ministry.

This is the beginning of a decade of harvest, the scope of which will pale every outpouring of God that has come before. You and I are living in the days prophesied of 100 years ago by William J. Seymour, pastor of the Azusa Street Mission.

Receive your fresh anointing for the work of the ministry today! Let the “latter rain” of His Spirit fall upon you and prepare you for supernatural ministry to the lost.
