The Life is in the Blood

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Leviticus 17:11 (KJV)

The “life,” vpn nephesh: , that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of a creature or man. A living being; the man himself, person or creature. This nephesh of the creature (man or beast) is in the rsb basar - flesh, of the body: of humans, animals or all living things as that which gives it “life.” This life is in the “blood,”Md dam.

After creating all that was necessary to sustain living things, God created the creatures of the sea and the fowl of the air on the fifth (24 hour) day. Then, on the sixth day, the animals (living creatures) were created “after his kind.” This is key. Each animal “kind” was a unique, special creation that would reproduce “after his kind.” Dogs reproduce dogs, cattle reproduce cattle, cats reproduce cats and yes, monkeys reproduce monkeys.

It was not until the sixth literal day that God said, “Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Gen. 1:26), and “created mankind in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Gen. 1:27).

Each creation was distinct and the “life (blood)” was distinctly suited to each creation. There are similarities as one would expect from there being a common Creator but attempts to mix the blood (“life”) of one with another have failed completely. The “life of the flesh” is perfectly suited to its “kind.”

Even in the act of atonement, it was necessary that the cleansing blood be of the same “kind” than the covering blood of animal sacrifice.

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Hebrews 10:4 (KJV)

For mankind to be cleansed and separated from the infection of sin, it would take the blood of a Man; the Man, Christ Jesus.

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:19 (KJV)

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28 (KJV)
