By the Word of The Lord

And the Lord appeared again in Shiloh: for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord. 1 Samuel 3:21 (KJV)

I have always been a bit of a mystic. By that I mean that I love the things of the Spirit of God and all that accompanies them. I love to see visions, have dreams and hear the Lord speak by His Spirit. I lay great stock in the prophetic and the ministry of the Prophet in this hour.

Every encounter I have had with the supernatural has only served to make me more hungry to know the Lord and His ways. I do realize that all of the manifestations of the Spirit of the Lord are the revealing of His acts and not necessarily a revelation of His ways.

To know the ways of God requires that we be serious students of, and adherents to, His Word. His acts are seen in the miraculous intervention of the natural order in whatever way He chooses in order to benefit His creation. His ways, on the other hand, are only found by revelation in His Word.

And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days. 1 Kings 3:14 (KJV)

In the Book of books are the words of life. It is the Word of Life, the Logos, the Living Light of the World, Who, incarnate, walked the earth in human flesh.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 1 John 1:1 (KJV)

To know His ways is to know His Son. To know His Son is to know His Word. To know His Word requires that it be honored and kept. Then, it will come to pass that “the Lord revealed himself . . . by the word of the Lord.” Our love for Him will cause us to revere and obey. Thus shall we know His ways.
