Honor
Our nation is suffering from many things. One of the central issues is that of honor. We have forgotten what it means to honor God, honor His creation, honor each other, honor our military, honor our policemen and firemen, honor our government offices, honor our elders, and honor our history.
Join me as I talk about this breakdown in our society that is threatening to tear us apart.
Remember, "a house divided cannot stand."

Truth is fallen in the street.
Lies, lies, and more lies
That's all I hear coming out of the camp on the Left.
Isaiah 59:14 (KJV) And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
Oh, I know, there are some that say that they are on the Right but are masquerading as Conservatives and living like Liberals.
What does the Bible have to say about these double tongued deceivers?
Numbers 32:23 (KJV) But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
No one likes to be demonized but sometimes actions and words reveal the source of their problem:
John 8:44 (KJV) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Lies are the work of "the father" of lies, who is the devil himself. People are played upon by demons and devils whether they acknowledge them or not.
I realize that we are not fighting against flesh and blood. Our fight is with the spirits of wickedness behind the actions of men.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The problem is, that men yield to demonic forces because of their own propensity to sin. That is, their greed for power, notoriety, status, and money have blinded them to the truth of who they are before God.
James 1:14, 15 (KJV) 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
My prayer is that men will repent and cry out to God for forgiveness so that the Nation can be healed:
Proverbs 29:2 (KJV) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Listen, you who call yourselves public servants. The people are mourning.

Receiving Honor
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? John 5:44 (KJV)
Nothing hinders the faith of a man more than the need to be accepted by other men. It is impossible to be a servant of Christ and seek to please men. The Lord who made us knows this weakness and so had Paul warn us about this danger.
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10 (KJV)
We are asked in today’s verse, “How can you believe . . . if you seek honor from other men?” To believe (pisteuo) is to commit to one’s trust (in this case committing ourselves into God’s trust). It is to have put our lives in trust with our Lord. We are persuaded and have absolute confidence in our God to lead us into our highest destiny according to His plan and purpose
To “receive” honor from one another carries the force of the Greek word, lambano, which means to take with the hand or to claim for one’s self. It is not receiving honor earned from others because of an exemplary life of service so much as it is appropriating it for one’s self from others.
Our focus in this life should be to seek ( zhtew zeteo) to fulfill the pleasure, plan and purpose of God. Our desire should be to seek in order to find, to aim at and strive after the will of God.
There is an honor doxa, a dignity, a glory that God gives to the faithful whose heart is toward Him. He clothes such a one with honor and a dignity by filling him with His own grace, splendor and excellence of spirit. This is a most glorious condition, a most exalted state that seats us with Christ at the right hand of the Father and ultimately draws us to that honored position for eternity in Christ.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
