Through Faith . . . We Understand - Part 02Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)Yesterday we learned that the creation was spoken into existence as a complete and secured work. Now we will finish our study of the verse. The Word of God was that which is or has been uttered by the Living Voice, of God (θεος, theos). This word, theos, speaks of the Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Now consider these little words that follow. so that things,(εις eis ο, ho) can be translated, toward the end that, things, The Son and the things He created, which are seen (βλεπω, blepo), or, perceived by the use of the eyes and therefore understood, were (γινομαι, ginomai), made to appear in history or brought to pass as a finished miracle, and not (μη, me γινομαι, ginomai), or rather, not translated and made, brought into existence (εκ, ek) out of, things which do appear (φαινω, phaino) are brought forth into the light and have become evident, appear so as to be seen. What I'm seeing here is that this verse teaches us once again that Christ was at the center of creation and took full part in it -
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3 (KJV)
- and that everything we can see, hear, touch, smell and taste was spoken into existence in completed form.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:20 (KJV)
