Die to your seed . . .

Die To Your Seed

I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest. John 12:24 (AMP)

There is nothing more frustrating that sowing your seed and having crop failure.

I'm sitting here in front of my upstairs window looking out over our church property watching my wife, Sharon, drive round in our modified golf cart. When the Lord blessed us with the ability to purchase this beautiful four acre ranch I also purchased this cart from the former owner. It was quickly modified into our personal "tractor" and "tote-mobile."

Sharon is riding around spraying super strength Roundup © on the weeds and the area where weeds normally spring up each year. (Thank God for the paved parking lot! There's a lot less weeding and spraying needed these days.) This treatment keeps the seed from moving through the growth cycle that results in cockle burrs galore.

Too many of us give money, time & talent to the kingdom and then spray it with spiritual Roundup © by not dying to the "seed sown." We give money but demand where it be spent. We give time and talent only to demand when and where it be used and many times insist that it be showcased

Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 1 Corinthians 15:36 (KJV)

God is not pleased with such acts of flesh. God will only accept that which has been offered as a sacrifice for destruction (Nbrq qorban). There are many Hebrew words used for offering but this one is of particular importance due to the total release of ownership spoken of. The thing offered is seen as belonging to God and not to the giver. The Lord can do with it as He pleases.

Spiritual crop failure comes when the seed sown is kept in the hand of our heart and not released into the good soil of the heart and hand of God.
