Light For The Path
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
Your word, dabar, commandment, sayings, utterance is a lamp, niyr, [or nir], a glistening glory light for my feet, regel, my journey according to the pace of God, and a light, 'owr, a bright, clear, light like that of the morning sun, or a bright flash of lightning.
It is interesting that this word, also carries the meaning of the light of life, prosperity, instruction and, specifically, of having the Almighty Jehovah as our Light for every path, nathiyb, that we may travel on.
As we considered in yesterday's verse, the Word of God is absolutely sure and trustworthy. Every individual on planet earth can rest their eternal future upon the words that God has spoken. These words, as well as the historical dealings of God with man, and man with God, have been recorded in the Bible for our benefit.
In many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets, Hebrews 1:1 (AMP)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
Beloved, the Word of God is not a compilation of the teachings of man, but the very words of the Eternal, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, given to man to keep him in all his ways. This wonderful, supernatural, living Word is given as a gift so that those created after the image and likeness of God can live life, and life more abundantly (Joh. 10:10b).
There is no darkness that the light of God cannot dispel, no path or situation that the Word will not order aright, and no question that the Word will not answer. "Thy Word is Truth" (Joh. 13:13 KJV), absolute and complete.
