A Healing Jesus
When John the Baptist sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus,
"Are You He Who is to come, or shall we look for another?" Jesus replied, "Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: "the lame are walking; the lepers are cleansed; the deaf are hearing; the dead are raised up; and the poor have the good news preached to them...And blessed is he who takes no offense in Me" (Mat. 11:3, 5, 6 KJV).
This the work reserved for the followers of Jesus Christ (believers).
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8 (KJV)
. . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:18 (KJV)
In fact, He has decreed that we are to do the "greater works."
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12 (KJV)
The work, ergon, Jesus spoke of was referring to "the works of Him that sent" Him (Joh. 9:4 KJV). He was always about the Father's business (Luk. 2:49 KJV). The word work refers to an act, deed, thing done: the idea of working is emphasized in opposition to that which is less than work. Everything that Jesus did was a direct result of what He heard the Father say and what He saw the Father do (Joh. 15:19).
In this hour there is a great move of God to bring His body into something fresh and powerful; you are one of those chosen to be used of the Lord in this hour. Jesus said that you would do greater works than those that He did. The greater, meizon, here speaks of those signs, wonders, miracles (healing, raising the dead, etc.) being what He did and greater, and the fruitfulness of the harvest of souls being larger and accompanied by greater strength (stronger).
It is time now to step out and say, "Yes Lord, Yes to Your will and to Your way," and see what He will do with you!
