Therefore Have I Spoken

Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak, 2 Corinthians 4:13 (AMP)

What we say is much more important than most of us understand. To the Christian, speaking what God says in His word and by His Spirit is critical to a victorious Christian life.

God is a speaking Spirit and we were created in His image and likeness. We, too, are speaking spirits. His words created everything that we can see and touch. His words created the environment in which we live. Before the fall everything was perfect, pure, lovely, good and very good.

Adam was able to speak the nature of an animal into being by naming it. His words were also creative.

Even after the fall, mankind is able to create an atmosphere of failure or success by what he speaks; especially when he speaks the living words of God that are found in the Bible.

The words spoken must be filled with faith. In other words, the speaker must believe that what he says will come to pass because God, who cannot lie, says so. Real faith is followed up with action that is in harmony with what is spoken.

We will do what we say if we believe what we say.

It doesn't matter how much time passes between what we have said and it's coming to pass. Our time is in the Lord's hands and He is faithful to perform what He has said.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day. Habakkuk 2:3 (Amp)

Beloved, guard your confession, the words you speak, with all diligence and wait expecting the completion of all you have said.
