Instruction

Instruction

For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Proverbs 6:23 (KJV)

The commandment, mits-vaw', the commandment of God (God's code of wisdom) is a lamp, niyr, glistens and provides light in darkness like a lamp; and the law, towrah , direction and instruction found in the body of prophetic teaching concerning God's codes of law, is light, 'owr, the light of life, prosperity and instruction in the face of God who is Israel's light; and reproofs, towkechah, correction and arguments for instruction, muwcar, doctrinal discipline and chastisment which illuminate the way,

Don't be too quick to throw out "the baby with the bath," the values of the law with the legalistic keeping of ritual. Jesus came to fulfill the law, not do away with it.

Grace embraced the fundamental principles of the law and converted them from a list of do's and do not's to want to's that flow from a life of loving obedience.

Too often it is the fleshly nature of mankind striving against godly instruction that screams, "We're under grace, not under the law!" A checkup from the neck up is a good practice every so often.

After all, Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15 KJV).

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:10 (KJV)
