. . . and the glory of children is their fathers. Proverbs 17:6 (AMP)
No one is more important to a child than their father.
To a young man, his father is his hero, his role model, his mentor and friend. Without being consciously aware of it, he will pattern his life after his father. The way his father treats his mother will be the pattern that molds his relationships with women and that will be used when once he marries. The father's morality, ethics and mannerisms will, to a great degree, establish the character of the son.
To a young lady, her father is her hero, her ideal man, her confidant, comforter and protector. When she comes of age, she will, subconsciously, look for a husband that is "just like dad." She will expect her husband to treat her just like her father treated her mother.
Children are greatly influenced by the presence, or absence of, their father. Our society has, for the most part, lost the knowledge of the importance of fathers in the family unit as it relates to the healthy development of children.
According to the above verse of scripture we find that fathers are the tiph'arah, hrapt, the glory, an ornament of beauty, the model and instiller of bravery, the one who gives honor and a majestic sense of being to a child.
Children should be able to expect an inheritance from their father. As it is written, "House and riches are the inheritance of fathers . . ." (Proverbs 19:14 KJV).
They will be blessed by a godly father and their prophetic destiny sealed to them by the laying on of hands or they will suffer the curse of the ungodly.
May each young man strive to be the father that God has intended for him to be by making Jesus Christ his Lord and Almighty God his Father, Mentor and Friend.
