If You Had Only...

If you had only known and had recognized God's gift and Who this is that is saying to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him [instead] and He would have given you living water. [John 4:10]

Have we known God's Gift?

If we are not careful we can find ourselves caught up with the "gifts" and "anointings" we have experienced at His coming. We become distracted from the very One Whom we seek.

My wife Sharon and I were always amazed when our children would throw aside the gift that we had so carefully chosen for Christmas or their Birthday. As babes they would get distracted by the bright paper wrappings and even the box that the gift was present in. When they became older and more mature they would never opt for the external things. They wanted the gift not what it came in!

Have you made the mistake of cherishing the external manifestations of The Gift rather than the Gift Himself?

Repent quickly if you have! Realign your attention and see what glorious beauty lies in The Gift Himself. He is waiting; behind the clutter of the wrappings and the containers with which He has come again and again to bless you.
