When will we ever learn?

What so continually grieves my heart is that many of those representing the Church are propagating racial discord. Church leaders, so called, have not sent a clear call for unity and reinforced the message of reconciliation in the face of injustice and public sentiment. Rather, they seem to be at the forefront of finger pointing and in favor of separatist policy giving only a nod toward meaningful reform.

The Church seems to not only condone, but encourage, racially segregated worship services. "Anglo-Americans" worship with "Anglo-Americans," "Afro-Americans" with "Afro-Americans," "Hispanic-Americans" with "Hispanic-Americans," "Asian-Americans" with "Asian-Americans," etc. (Personally, I think Americans are just, "Americans." Multi-racial, multi-national congregations are looked upon as misfits within the traditional Church structure. Beloved, This should not be so!

Gal 3:28-Amp There is [now no distinction], neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus

. [Rom 10:12; Gal 6:15; Col 3:11]

In 1906 God raised up a black man by the name of William J Seymour to usher in the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit that mankind has seen since the day of Pentecost. Most Pentecostal/Charismatic groups can trace their roots to the Azusa Street revival and Pastor Seymour. All 360-400 million + of them.

During that era racial strife was rampant yet God brought together people from all races and Nations to receive a fresh revelation of His love. There was not one hint of racist, sexist, or classist preference or intolerance. The nature of a loving God who created all

mankind after His image and likeness was manifest in a most beautiful way.

If the Church is to impact the world today we must set aside the bias of the old nature. The Spirit of Azusa is moving like a fresh wind across the land today. Will we spread the wings of faith and rise up upon it or cling tenaciously to the earthly.

Will we keep the "gifts" but reject the Nature of the One Who gave them? This is a critical time of decision.
