A New Creature ...

We are told that when we become "born again" that the old nature is gone and that we are a new creature. Jesus related that every person needs to be born of the Spirit [John 3:5-7] and that this new birth brings about a metamorphosis that ushers in a a whole new creation.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor. 5:17

Beloved, it is critical to a successful walk in Christ to grasp this great truth.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

You and I are simply not who we used to be. Our past is in Christ; our present is in Christ; our future is in Christ. "I live; yet not I, but Christ." Our life is hidden in Him. You and I are not who we were! Don't let Satan tell you that you are who, what or how you used to be. It just is not true.

We are new! The Devil has nothing to work with when the saint of God finally comes to the realization of who, what and how he, or she, is. If our past, present and future is in Christ we cannot be condemned, confused, distracted, dissuaded or discouraged about who we are, why we are here, or where we are going. There is great liberty in knowing who you really are.
