"In July?", you say, "I always knew there was something strange about that guy in Las Vegas."
I can't help it. My spiritual clock seems to be set so that it winds down in mid-July. The Lord re-calibrates, oils, re-directs, and sets me in motion for the next twelve months by the first of August each year.
July is Jubilee time for me.
I realize that the Hebrew calendar is not the same as the one on my wall but perhaps Leviticus 25:9 can shed light on this phenomenon:
"Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month
, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.Jubilee
is an acclamation of joy or a battle-cry. It is a time for the blowing of trumpets, rejoicing, and shouts of triumph and victory. It is also a time of breaking and breaking forth.Every July Sharon and I draw aside with God. It is always a time of breaking old, outdated, patterns and habits and a breaking forth of fresh new revelation, bearing, and strength.
God is always so faithful to meet us and bring us into refreshing streams of rest that culminate in glorious times of triumphant celebration.
Our prayer is that you also will take extra time this month to seek the Fathers face. Together we will enter His rest as we listen, with our spiritual ear, for the sound of the shofar [trumpet] marking the beginning of jubilee.
Then, Beloved, we shall go forth to together "to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound.....To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor],..... that He may be glorified."[Isa 61:1-3]
