For thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Isaiah 56:4-5 (KJV)
The Lord does not overlook even one individual who trusts in Him. He has a plan and a promised blessing for all who look to Him for their hope. Our verses today begin with “For thus saith the Lord.” This literally states, rma hwhy('amar Y@hovah), “YHWH promises.” He who cannot lie promises to the enuchs (oyro cariyc), castrated chamberlains or officers, that, if they will choose those things that please the Lord Upx rxb (chaphets bachar), they would receive an everlasting name. The reception of an everlasting name suggests that their lives will be extremely fruitful throughout eternity.
Here is an eternal promise to mortal men. Here is a promise of eternal glory, honor and station to those who have set aside natural fruitfulness during their life on earth. This promise of blessing positions the servant hearted as better than sons and daughters of the Most High. The servant will be served.
Thus shall it be that even the most hidden from public view faithful servant becomes an heir of God and is rewarded:
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:7 (KJV)
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:17 (KJV)
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? James 2:5 (KJV)
