Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 1 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV)
Again, it is brought to the fore front that (agape) love seeks only to benefit the object of its love. It is not consumed with demanding that it be gratified at the expense of another. It does not seek (zeteo), seek after, seek for, aim at, strive after ways to demand something from someone. Love never manipulates in order to satisfy the cravings of self (heautou).
God, who is Love (agape), operates in Covenant Love which is unbreakable and unending (eternal); “for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” and “Love never fails” (Heb. 13:5 KJV; 1 Cor. 13:8 Amp).
He has made a decision to love and to bless the object of His love. His decision to love is unalterable and His covenant He will not break:
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalm 89:34 (KJV)
A covenant partner will never seek his own way. He is bound to be a blessing, a covering, a protection, a defense and a source of strength. The enemies of his covenant brother are his enemies and the friends of his covenant brother are his friends.
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3 (KJV)
God in Christ is in covenant with every believer and will behave Himself as a covenant partner with those who will live in covenant relationship with Him. If the believer will not seek his own but will seek that which is the Lord’s, the plan and the purpose of God will be accomplished and blessing will flow.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
