My Chosen One

I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, Psalm 89:3

Today’s verse literally says, “I have cut a covenant (karath) (bariyth) of alliance and friendship. This covenant is one of divine ordinance accompanied with signs and pledges and ratified by My oath (shaba`). It is a covenant between Me and My chosen, called and anointed servant (`ebed).

This word, servant (`ebed), is not the servant slave that we might think. This is the worshiper of God, the prophet, priest servant. This is the word used as a form of address between equals. This is what Jesus was speaking of when He said,

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. John 15:13-15 (KJV)

Jesus is the “David” (daw-veed'), the “Beloved” of God Who is the Chosen, Called and Anointed Servant, Prophet and Priest. The wonderful thing is that you and I are also the “beloved” of God in Christ. We are the object of His affection and the purchased of His life through the blood of the Lamb.

In Christ we are now the chosen, called and anointed servant king priests that walk the earth and carry the anointing to set the captives free as we rule and reign.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his arvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)

The Kingdom of God is in, and manifest through, the Beloved and His beloved. Now are the praises of God shown forth to all who are groping in darkness until this day. We “servants” bring the marvelous light of God to bear where ever we go.
